THIS APP IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY

Ghost Says was conceived, designed, and programmed by a group of part-time, redneck ghost hunters that wanted an investigation tool without any ambiguous “Was that a response?” moments of static filled radio or preprogrammed dictionaries. Just a simple YES or NO. This application will only activate when the physical environment around it changes, either as a change in the compass heading or the YES or NO buttons on the screen being touched. There are no pre-programmed responses in the software designed to serve as a prank or joke. If this thing goes off, it is only because of interaction with the iPhone it is running on.

So what does Ghost Says do?

Really not much of anything unless it is interacted with! It detects changes in the compass heading (labeled CHC for Compass Heading Change), either from moving the phone (which you don’t want to do!) or changes in the magnetic field or interference around the iPhone that cause the compass to move. The screen will change from black to blue as the compass heading changes, rising in intensity as the change in the compass becomes greater. The change in compass heading is measured on the screen on a scale from 0 to 10, with 0 being no change and 10 being the highest change. Both the current heading change and the maximum heading change during a session are displayed. Ghost Says has two buttons, one for YES and one for NO. The buttons will light up momentarily, and an audio clip of a voice speaking “Yes” or “No” will play, when they are touched. That’s it; it’s as simple as that! There are no pre-programmed responses in Ghost Says.

Some Quick Tips:

• Turn on airplane mode in your iPhone settings before using Ghost Says to prevent a call, text, or email from interrupting your session.

• Keep electronic devices away from your phone during a session. They can cause the compass to move and give a false reading.

• The Compass Heading Change, or CHC, is based off of the internal compass of your iPhone. Ghost Says uses a scale from 0 to 10 to indicate intensity. The scale is based on the maximum range of the compass, and is not related to Hertz (HZ) Gauss (G) or Volts (V).

• The screen will turn blue as the change in compass heading of your phone rises. The intensity of the blue color will reach it’s maximum at a measurement of 5 on Ghost Says’ scale, but the Current and Maximum CHC will continue to measure up to 10.

• If you bump your phone, it will change the compass reading and give a false positive for a compass heading change. Gently move your phone back to its original position (The current CHC should read as close to zero as you can get it) or restart your session.

• Remember, there are no pre-programmed responses in Ghost Says. The CHC, will not change nor will the YES and NO buttons indicate a touch without interaction.
